Nesar Theater was founded in 1991 by a group of theater creators who mainly concentrated on staging modern and classical plays with a political-radical interpretation in unusual performance spaces. The group was headed by the director and playwright Avishi Milstein and the creator, actress and director Dalit Milstein.
